Ilan Stavans is Lewis-Sebring Professor in Latin American and Latino Culture at Amherst College. His most recent books are Quixote: The Novel and the World (Norton) and Borges, the Jew (SUNY). He is currently translating Shakespeare’s Hamlet into Spanglish.
