James Bennett

James Bennett is currently at work on his dissertation, "Becoming Literate in Medieval St. Albans." It is a study of the emergence of pragmatic legal literacy on the lands of the Liberty of St. Albans during the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, and how this development transformed the political culture of these communities.
