Steven Hyland

Steven Hyland Jr. is an award winning scholar and educator in the Department of History and Political Science at Wingate University. He teaches courses on Latin American history and world history, specializing in modern Argentina, international migration, and transnational social and political movements. His first book More Argentine Than You: Arabic-Speaking Immigrants in Argentina examines the adaptation and integration of the diverse Syrian and Lebanese communities in northwestern Argentina during the first half of the twentieth century. More Argentine Than You won the 2018 Alfred B. Thomas Book Award.
