From time to time, we like to take a moment to highlight fantastic history sites from around the web. These are websites that – much like Origins – seek to bring history into public conversation.
This month, we are focusing on a wonderful, likeminded, resource: George Mason University's History News Network (HNN). HNN's mission is to put current events into historical perspective... and Origins likes that! Each week, HNN finds and posts the most up-to-date features by the best historians across the globe. These primarily include articles but also book reviews, blog posts, and videos. All are well-researched and directed towards the general, history-news-loving, public.
HNN makes learning about the history profession really fun with their "features" section. There are countless sub-topics here including "history quotes" "Top Young Historians" "Historians on the Hot Seat" and "Interviews with Historians."
