Kathryn Metz

Kathryn Metz has spent the last year and a half volunteering in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina to help provide dignified aid to people in transit as they attempt to enter the Schengen Area of the European Union. Most recently, she worked with the organization Border Violence Monitoring to collect testimonies from people who experienced the illegal practice of pushbacks along the Balkan route.

In her time off, she travels to the regions where many of the people come from that she has met along the Balkan route.
She received a BA in history from The Ohio State University in 2011, and an MA in Human Rights from the Central European University in 2015.
