Madison Chapman

Madison Chapman is a PhD student specializing in the history of science and medicine in late medieval and early modern Europe. She is particularly interested in the dissemination and application of medical ideas throughout all levels of society. Her current research focuses on the sanctity of body and blood, from the dominance of bloodletting throughout the Middle Ages to 17th-century blood transfusion trials and early 18th-century smallpox inoculation before Edward Jenner's vaccine.
