Cameron Givens is a Ph.D. candidate in history at the Ohio State University. His dissertation focuses on the American home front during the First World War, specifically the role of internal enemy fears in the ascendance of nativism and racial nationalism. His article, "From the Border War to the First World War: The 'Mexican' Internal Enemy in Texas, 1915-1918," is forthcoming in 20 & 21. Revue d'histoire, a leading journal of modern history in France. He was also awarded a Gerda Henkel Scholarship for his research from the Historial de la Grande Guerre, Europe's top international research center and museum for the First World War.
