Dr. McMillen is a Professor of History at the University of Virginia, where he serves at the Associate Dean of Social Sciences and studies Native American History and the history of disease.
His most recent book is Discovering Tuberculosis: A Global History, 1900-present, in which he analyzes the longevity of tuberculosis and the global fight to control the disease. He is also the author of Pandemics: A Very Short Introduction and Making Indian Law: The Hualapai Land Case and the Birth of Ethnohistory.
