John McCannon

John McCannon is Professor of History at Southern New Hampshire University, specializing in modern Russia, Arctic studies, and the history of exploration and aviation. He is the author of Red Arctic: Polar Exploration and the Myth of the North in the Soviet Union and A History of the Arctic: Nature, Exploration and Exploitation, among other works, and is currently finishing a biography of the Russian artist and explorer Nicholas Roerich.
