Peggy Solic recently graduated with her Ph.D. in Women's and Modern U.S. History at the Ohio State University. She received her BA from Saint Mary's College (IN) in 2008 and her MA from the University of Maine, Orono, in 2010. Her dissertation, entitled "A Nation Against Itself: Domestic Violence, Feminism, and the State," examines how battered women attempted to force police departments around the United States to treat domestic violence as a crime, arguing that non-arrest policies violated their Fourteenth Amendment right to equal protection under the law.
