Stephen M. Norris is Professor of History and Interim Director of the Havighurst Center for Russian and Post-Soviet Studies at Miami University (OH). He is the author of two books: A War of Images: Russian Popular Prints, Wartime Culture, and National Identity, 1812-1945 (2006) and Blockbuster History in the New Russia: Movies, Memory, Patriotism (2012). He has co-edited three volumes on Russian history and culture, including, most recently, Russia's People of Empire: Life Stories from Eurasia, 1500 to the Present (2012, with Willard Sunderland). His edited volume, Museums of Communism: New Sites of Memory in Central and Eastern Europe, will appear soon with Indiana University Press, and his co-edited volume (with Pavel Lyssakov), The City in Russian Culture, is forthcoming with Routledge. He is currently writing a biography of the Soviet political caricaturist, Boris Efimov (1900-2008).
