The passage roughly translates to "Alimentary dystrophy (starvation sickness). Failure of the general nourishment of the organism as a result of a long period of undernourishment, when food does not comprise a sufficient quantity of calories in relation to the energy used. After the war, dystrophy received another, unofficial name, "The Leningrad Sickness"
