Edward Kunz is a 5th year PhD candidate in diplomatic history at The Ohio State University. His broad interests include the role of power and diplomacy in the relationship between Israel and the United States from 1948 to the present. Edward’s dissertation project examines the diplomatic relationship between Israel and the United States during the Carter and Reagan presidencies. The dissertation places a particular emphasis on the Lebanese Civil War and the 1982 Lebanon War, interrogating their roles in formulating Carter's and Reagan’s approaches to the Arab – Israeli conflict. Edward’s work interfaces with a variety of historical disciplines including diplomatic history, military history, Jewish history, and Cold War history.
