Katherine Everett

Katherine Everett (née Mooney) is a Ph.D. student of African history and a Mershon Graduate Fellow at the Ohio State University. Her dissertation, entitled “An Era of Post-Independence Possibility in Zambia,” will interrogate and explore Zambian international image-building, multilateral partnership formation, and regional political influence from Zambian independence (1964) until Zimbabwean (Rhodesian) independence (1980). She has completed ethnographic fieldwork and Swahili language competency in Arusha, Tanzania; Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; and Mji Mkongwe (Stone Town), Zanzibar, as well as archival fieldwork in Lusaka, Zambia and Frankfurt, Germany.
