2/28/14: 21 Historical Events to Remember

There's a new video out on the Environmental History Resources YouTube Channel, and it's all about turning points.

Starting with the asteriod impact 65 million years ago, this video spans quite a bit of time and terrain in a short 25 minutes. From nuclear disaster and Earth Day, to deforestation and the emergence of agriculture, this is a bold endeavor that also considers the importance of human interactions with the earth throughout time.

All of this is based on an article compiled and introduced by Frank Uekötter, entitled, "What Should We Remember? A Global Poll Among Environmental Historians." After you watch the video, listen to an interview with the author about the collective memory of humanity.
