Patrick served as a managing editor for Origins for three years. He also co-created Origins' podcast History Talk, which he has produced and hosted for over three years. He earned his PhD in History from Ohio State's History Department in 2016.
He has taught several classes including modern western civilization, U.S. history since 1963, social movements in U.S. history, and the modern U.S. history survey. He specializes in education, housing, urban America, race, public policy, historic preservation, and public history.
In addition to book reviews on Origins, Patrick has published "Top Ten Origins: The Common Core Curriculum" and "December 2012: A “God Particle” for Isaac Newton’s Birthday."
